infant seat question

Hi guys! This may be a terribly dumb question, but we just installed our chicco infant seat in the backseat last night. Is the handle supposed to stay up or be put down? I have tried googling it but cant find an answer to suit me...Just wondering. TIA

It should say in your car seat manual or there may be a sticker on the side of the seat that tells you

It doesn't say which way to do it in the manual, but we took it to the hospital to check to make sure the instillation was perfect, and the car seat expert said to ALWAYS put it down. This is a good question.
