Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

XP: Possible ectopic pregnancy. Questions...

I'm going to the doctor at three because I have had several extremely faint postives over the past 5-6 days and they are not getting any darker like they did with #1. This leads me to believe my hcg levels are not rising as they should be. My period was due yesterday. I'm having a lot of sharp pains around where my right ovary would be and I've been feeling dizzy and have had shoulder pain. I've read that all of these can be signs of an ectopic pregnancy. I am really worried. If you've been through something similar what was your experience? Has anyone had these symptoms and it been something else? Thanks for any advice.

  • I hope everything turns out okay.  I dont think you would be getting ectopic pain this early if that is what it is, I could be wrong though.  If its not getting darker at all I'd think it would be a chemical pregnancy.  GL.

  • the baby is not big enough at this point to be causing pain. sure it could be in the wrong spot, but that's probably not what's going on.

the referred shoulder pain is weird, so you should go get it checked out. let us know what they say.

  • With my first pregnancy, I took 3 home pregnancy tests a WEEK after my missed period w/no positive, not even a faint positive. Went to the dr. where my urine test came back negative as well. My blood work came back that same day as positive....I now have a beautiful healthy 2 yr old girl! My second pregnancy, I took 2 home pregnancy tests that came back positive as soon as the urine hit the stick....and had a blighted ovum.....so, what I'm trying to say is, don't stress until the dr. says you have something to stress about.

I agree with this poster.  My ectopic pain didn't start until 6+ weeks but my 2 chemicals were just like you are describing.  Hope you find answers soon.
