We used tinyprints.com and were very happy with them. I chose them b/c they print on cardstock not photo paper. We used a very cute Dwell Studio design and they weren't too expensive.
winkflash.com currently has 75% off their cards... they offer photo paper or cardstock. We ordered from here for our wedding thank you notes and I was impressed with the quality.
I obviously haven't used them yet, but have heard really good things about Shutterfly.com. We're actually about to order my baby shower invites from there and will do my announcements too.

We used Walmart for Betsy, but I was living overseas and had very limited options since most companies wouldn't ship to me or I was afraid they would be lost in the mail or take forever to get to me. Military mail is very unreliable.
I had my sister bring them over for me when she came to visit when DD was 3 weeks old. I sent the birth announcements out as my Christmas card since she was born Nov. 4.
ETA: I haven't decided what I am going to do this time around. I might take the kids to Sears in early December and get a bunch of wallets for the Christmas card and have that be my announcement or I might use the newborn pics as the Christmas card. I know I am not doing announcements and Christmas cards. The events are too close together and I am not paying postage for 50+ cards twice.
Momma to 2 sweet girls here on earth and a precious baby boy in heaven
If you have something in mind, I'd be happy to design something for you. Then you can have the PDF of it and can go to Kinkos or your local printer and have them printed for pretty cheap. I have some stuff I've done on my blog: www.emalinedesignsgallery.blogspot.com. Just shoot me an email if you're interested. emalinedesigns at gmail dot com.
I used etsy. I paid for a $15.00 for a custom design and then just had them printed at Costco for 6 cents each. So for a 100?announcements?it cost a total of $21.00

Re: I know this has been asked a million times: Where can I find affordable nice birth announcements? NF
