1st Trimester

Pants are a wee bit snug this morning

It might be because they are fresh out of the dryer.  It might not be because of that at all. :)  I'm hoping they will stretch out some during the day but until that time I need a little relief.

What's the rubber band trick that I keep hearing about?

Thanks!

  • You can tuck the rubberband in your pocket incase you need it later.

Loop it around the button, through the button hole, and then back around the button.?

  • I'd like to know that trick, too!  I did buy some maternity shorts yesterday, but I don't want to buy a bunch of pants yet that are way too big & then have to buy more in a month or two!  I'd like to try using a rubber band to "stretch" my regular pants a bit longer!

Thanks so much.  That does help!

  • Shannon - I am stalking you!  LOL...Just responded to your post on the other board.

Anyway...my pants barely buttoned this AM and were fresh out of the dryer too!  Still tight though...they can only stretch so much!  Ugh...I hate tight pants. Angry

  • My work clothes still fit- only my jeans are snug.  Tried finding plus-size maternity but Motherhood Maternity left our mall and JC Penney only carriers PSM online.  So now I have to order a pair of jeans- but really want to wait until I can afford to order some work pants, too, for the fall/winter months.  Might have to try the rubber band trick, or suck it up and not wear jeans on denim Fridays!

On that same note, I've gained 4 lb since I got pregnant.  Yikes!  According to something I read on her, because I'm already overweight, I should only gain 10-15 my whole pregnancy!  How they heck can I manage that when I've got 8 months to go?!  And I've been eating better & exercising more since just before I got pregnant.  SOOOOO frustrating!

  • The rubber band trick works wonders!
  • haha..yea, ran into the same thing this AM.  Fortuantley the pants the i'm wearing today have a drawstring on them too so I've zipped them as far as it's comfy and they used the drawstring to hold the top together.  Then found a nice long shirt to cover it all up.

My bella bands should be here tomorrow or saturday so I can actually wear normal pants instead of gym shorts and pajama pants  (I work from home so my wardrobe is rather casual:) ).

  • I bought a Be Band/Bella Band and so far so good with my work pants. When I'm home I live in pajama pants or sweat pants.

Hey Mush...I am in the same boat!   I am about 15 lbs overweight (had big plans to lose that extra weight befor getting pg but the BFP came MUCH quicker than we expected!)....anyway....I have been watching what I eat and have been exercising a little and still gained 2.5 lbs!   I am thinking about seeing a nutritionist b/c I am constantly thinking about how much weight I am going to gain and I don't want to be worrying this entire pregnancy about everything I put into my mouth.  Wah!
