I know I should of probably just asked my doctor, but it wasn't on my mind really last time I saw him... I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get pregnant before your first AF after a m/c?  We were told there would be no waiting period if we wanted to ttc again.  I just don't know if it's possible to get pregnant now, since I have not had AF yet.  I am 2 weeks post d and c today...

    yes- my doctor told me to wait 2 cycles though to make sure my body was ready-

    yes it definitely can happen, it does often.  The only trouble you might have is dating the pregnancy because you won't have your AF to base it off of.
    DD(9)DD(5.5)DS(3)DS(born 2/1/11) July 2006, lost a baby at 8 weeks, natural miscarriage , May 2009 lost Zoe Eliana at 17 weeks no reason known, possible under developed organs. Lost two more babies in September 2009 at 7 wks 4 days. Had myomectomy surgery to remove a large fibroid in November 2009.

    You can get pregnant.. only if you ovulate tho. Some ladies dont and have to induce their period. As said above, you might have problems dating the pregnancy without a period, but I think that an ultrasound would be able to date it if you do become pregnant.

    It is possible, but not advised because it takes a while for your body to be ready again.

    My doctor said to wait until I get my first period post d&c, and then if we want to we can try again.  Looking forward to it!

    My doctor said to wait 2-3 cycles after the d-c.  She said if you have an "oopsy" and get pg then you would increase your risk of miscarriage b/c your uterine lining is not thick enough yet and your body has not recovered.  Also you would more than likely have to start on progesterone suppositories right away to thicken the uterine lining and help maintain the placenta. 

    I had my d-c on July 21st..and there is nothing I want more than to be preggers again but I also want my body (and uterus) to be healthy.  I couldn't imagine putting myself at risk for another miscarriage again! Hope this information helps! Good Luck!

    Thank you for those answers.  Definitely helps.  I don't want to increase my risk for a mc again what so ever!
