A few weeks back we were talking about how teenagers spell when they are online. I was just posting something on my niece's fb and one of her friends wrote her a message including the words:
u cud (you could)
ur (your/you're-this was used several times)
sugesst
der (there)
gud luk
I could barely make out what she was saying because the spelling was so bad! (or should I say "i cud berly make out what she was sayin coz de spelin wuz so baddddd"
Re: bad speller, are you in that much of a rush?

One of DH's hockey players said "pritty". I publicly told him that spelling was important and that girls like boys who can spell. I probably embarrassed the hell out of him but I don't care.
He probbly got all kind of comments..."who was that biitch correcting your spelling?" "My coaches crazy ass wife".
I admit I use the ur sometimes when texting.
That other garbage however, is just a mess.
BAAAAAAA thats hilarious! I correct my niece all the time!

even my 13 year old sister refuses to use text speak. the sad part is my mohter does use it and i constantly have to respond to her texts and say 'what did that mean?'
i especially hate when the abbreviated word is only 1 letter shorter than the actual word.
oh and not only is sugesst horribly misspelled, it's the same number of letters as suggest.
