chewing on tongue

My son has started chewing on his tongue on the left side of his mouth.  He definitely is pre-teething but I was wondering if the tongue chewing is part of that.  Does anyone else's DC do this?

    My little girl has just started this as well. She has been pre-teething for a while.

    my lo has been doing this for over a month...i think at that point she just realized it was there and now its just for fun ;)
