Please recommend your potty for boys

There are so many to choose from.  Do you ladies have a favorite?  I think I'd prefer one that my DS can start using on the floor and then move the ring/seat to the regular toilet but I've never done this before so....I'm asking the experts!  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!  TIA!

  • We're not REALLY trying to potty train yet, but we did get a potty for DS to sit on for a couple minutes each night. We bought the Baby Bjorn that sits on the toilet. My sister had a Fisher Price one that sat on the floor- it was very cute, looked like a toilet and talked. My nephew liked sitting on it.

  • i started with a potty ring from the start and Carson has never had a problem with it.  i like the Cars potty ring b/c it has a large cup catcher thing that keeps the pee in the toliet.
  • I bought Jack the Baby Bjorn potty seat with the removable reservoir but didn't use it.

The seat we love is the Family Seat from onestepahead.com. We love this seat for a couple reasons. The main being Jack can lift the seats to pea or put the seats down so he can sit and poop. He's also able to get on and off the toilet without any help from us and has been able to since we trained him at 29m. It's pricey, but oh so worth it for his independence. The only thing we have to help with is wiping his booty. He'll just call us when he's ready for help.

  • We have a potty ring that sits on the regular toilet.  I prefer it because I don't have to clean poop out of a potty chair and I don't have to worry about transitioning later on.  DS does really well with it, but lately he has been asking to sit by himself (just him on the regular toilet, no potty ring.  He holds himself up.)
