I used the skeleton letter from resolve to write a letter to HR asking them to cover IF treatments. Thought I'd post here and see if anybody wanted to see and/or copy it to do the same thing.
It's too late to make a difference for us (we're starting IVF #1 and only), but I'm hoping I can get them to change their policy anyway, or at least be the first of many requesting it.

Re: Letter to HR re IF coverage
Good Luck with it.
I tried multiple times to convince my very large company to provide IF coverage, I even wrote multiple letters to the CEO head hauncho of the company. I provided factual data as well as adding some personal experience. The CEO and I exchanged several emails that went on over the course of about 6 months.
Sadly, in the end, all I got was the run around about it being too expensive to provide IF coverage and how it would drive up premiums for the company etc........ All my efforts were for nothing, but atleast I know I tried.
I hope you have much better sucess, if not for you, then for others you work with.

Thank you for posting this. I actually live in a state where IF coverage including IVF is mandated but my employer contracts healthcare out of PA so they're not subject to the mandate. I'm petitioning the state's insurance commission as well as HR and also am flooding the market with my resume in hopes that I get a job where this isn't an issue. Talk about wasting money....I've been less than productive at work while I do all this research. If they would have just paid for IVF, they would have saved thousands! ha ha
Good luck with your treatments!

So, as someone in HR who may receive a letter like that, I think it is well written. Having data to back up your statements is always good and you did a really nice job with that. I think it was persuasive as to why having that coverage is better than other currently covered options.
For anyone else who is considering doing this, here are a few other things to consider:
What is the company's philosophy on people, benefits, compensation, etc? I ask that because I know my company puts a huge emphasis on the total compensation package which not only includes pay, but the cost for benefits. We have a HUGE push in our organzation to get recognized nationally as one of the top employers/places to work in the country. Citing data from those companies listed as one of the best places to work regarding what their benefits coverage is would probably get our attention because we want to be competitive if not better than them if that's what it takes to get people here. I'm not saying we'd automatically change what we're doing, but it at least gives us something to compare it to.
