Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

UGh! Another bill...

I just got yet another bill in the mail. I hope this is my last. Anesthesiologist... $644.00!!! thats not even including the drugs! I mean c'mon $644.00 for 45 minutes? That would make my total bills to date of $3614.00 - This sucks. I dont even have anything to show for it except an empty bank account.

I wish I had some insurance to cover it. I was a dependent on my moms insurance and this type of stuff wasnt covered.. Now that she renewed it I am being put on COBRA till I can find another individual policy thats decent.  Glad i'm covered not, but I hope I wont have to use it for a m/c.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss and for your enormous bill!  I was very lucky to have insurance for this pregnancy b/c we would probably have lost our house if we didn't.  As it is though, a couple of the things we had done were not covered and now we're in debt b/c of it.  Out of all the things that happened, this is what makes me the angryiest.  It just doesn't seem fair.

  • I'm sorry for your losses.  The bills get to be a bit ridiculous.  It is so expensive not to have a baby.  Sad

  • I'm sorry you are dealing with insurance issues on top of everything else.  I was just thinking about how much it's going to suck when all the bills from this weekend roll in.  We do have coverage but it's not going to cover everything.  Not to mention it's a bitter reminder of a horrible event, especially since it seems like just when you think you've got them all cleared, there's always a straggler a few months later.
  • I am so sorry for your loss and that you are having to deal with that. I just received a statement from my insurance company, the grand total for just my D&C was well over $10k. Seriously? I was in the hospital for 5 hours. It's so ridiculous. Granted my insurance picked up most of that, but it still makes me sad too, to see the bills coming in.

I'm so sorry for your loss and for the constant headache and reminder of the bills rolling in.  Even though I know it's little comfort, you do get to write off paid medical bills next year.  Hopefully you'll get a nice return because of it and you can put it toward that baby you're going to have next time.  Good luck and big hugs!!
