So got first letter from summer bootcamp

Dear Flo and Dad,

I love you both and appreciate everything that you've done for me.  However, I am upset that you put me into a boot camp.  BOOT CAMP!!!  Apparently you signed permission for them to scream at us right in our face, push us, punch us in the face, and strangle us.  So far I have been screamed at and pushed.  We have not had ANY fun.  There are kids who have mental issues, and take medication.  Some have shot people or gotten into fights.

My ankle is sore (they gave me ibuprofen) and I had to use my ashtma pump twice.  I don't understand why I'm here - you said I was behaving better the last 2 weeks and now I am here.  IN BOOT CAMP!  Please send me all the prayers because I'm going to need them to survive the next 2 weeks and 4 days.

So at first my heart sank.  I took a deep breath and started thinking.  The letter was dated the second day he was there.  The drop off was Sunday afternoon (19th) and his letter was dated 21st.  So to put it into perspective he's a little dramatic.  We didn't sign permission - I'm sure the leaders are just telling them this to keep them in line.  His ankle is sore because he weighs 225 lbs and hasn't jogged in Lord only knows how long.  He refused to go walking with me at night after dinner.  Luckily he' s only been yelled at and pushed - it's funny how he gets upset about this, but doesnt' think about how he yells and speaks to me.  He had to use his asthma pump twice - I would have to also if I were out of shape and was required to run a lot.   Some of the kids supposedly shot people - this I don't believe I think it's more of boys trying to look cool.

***By the way - his aunt called us - the one he spent a week at when he first got here in June ****   and she just told us that when he slept over, his little ADHD cousin upset him (50lbs and 9 years old - 4 feet 5 inches) and SS pulled a knife on him.  So we are goign to have to deal with this one when he gets back. ******   But hey this isn't so bad when he does this - in his eyes this isn't terrible.

    Mind you - he's a manipulator - the leaders probably told them ALL this to keep them in line you know?  However, he'll word it and make it as it only happened to him.  KWIM? 

    DH took it better than I did - In front of him I kind of shrugged it off as "come on he's only been there 2 days".

    Stay strong and you know you guys did the right thing. He belongs in boot camp. He needs to get in shape physically and get his attitude in shape too, he'll get all that there and hopefully he'll come home being a lot more pleasant than he's been. Good luck!

    Eh. Hopefully this makes him realize that the way he treats others is totally unacceptable, and that being unhealthy is not a pleasant way to live.8

    Completely agreed!! I do find it amusing tho how he worded things.
