Bad night time cramps...advice pls!

I've been cramping regularly since before I got my BFP, and it has continued ever since, sometimes being more noticable than others. The last two nights during my sleep, Ive been ripped from a dead sleep with the same type of cramps. I almost feel my uterus throbbing or pulsating which will last with intensity for a few seconds, then when it stops, I'm just crampy and uncomfortable afterwards. Kind of like the feeling when you have the big "O"...but without the pleasure (sorry, tmi). And no, there are no happy dreams involved prior to this cramping. Has anyone else experienced this type of sensation?

There is no bleeding/spotting involved, either, just cramps. I dont want to sound paranoid, because I know its normal to expect AF like cramps, however, to be awaken in the middle of the night to this kind of cramping concerns me. I do plan on calling my Dr. as well. Thanks!

  • I get cramps alot too at night. They kinda feel like menstrual cramps. I asked the doctor and she said as long as there is no bleeding or spotting it is more than likely just your uterus expanding and the reason we feel it at night is because we are more rested. Talk to your doctor though because everyone is different. Hope you feel better soon.
  • I am crampy all day long! Feels like menstrual or ovulation cramps.  Dr didn't say anything about it when I brought it up at my apt Friday.  No spotting or anything.  Got a huge cramp this morning when I sneezed, that scared me.  Now back to regular crampy feeling.  Yeah.

  • this was exactly me.  I would great during the day and then nighttime would hit and bam!  there they went and they were fairly strong.  I would call your doctor and talk to them, but all in all you should be fine.

Did you call your doc? I am having the exact same situation and it worries me.  I called my doc and asked and they said unless I saw spotting not to worry, and I've got no spotting going on.  But still, it is scary to wake up with these terrible cramps!

I assume a heating pad is out of the question what with avoiding the warm temperatures, right?

  • NO HEATING PAD!!!! You will overcook your little bean!  Tylenol helps a little.
