Re: ~~Bed Rest Mama's Weekend Check In~~

  • No updates for me.

QOTD: We were not really trying but not exactly preventing. Things had been very out of wack since I had Ethan. My cycle was very short (3 weeks between periods). I know exactly when we conceived, and am amazed because it was 2 days after my period ended...  That was the one and only time we did the deed in Jan because shortly after that me, my DH and Ethan got the flu and we passed it around for the next 2-1/2 weeks so there was no more action... then the period never showed and wa-la I got 2 lines!

QOTD: (Idea stolen from a question on 3rd tri) Were you trying to get pregnant? Do you know when/where you got pregnant?

Yes, we were trying.  I got my IUD taken out in mid-September.  It was lost in my uterus (it tipped sideways and the strings disappeared), so I had to have a hysteroscopy in the operating room and be put to sleep.  So going off birth control was definitely a conscious decision for us!  I started feeling nauseated and gross around new year's eve.  I got my BFP while we were on our honeymoon in Hawaii a few days later.  It must have happened right before Christmas, which is odd because we were on this brutal holiday work schedule.  24 hours on, 24 hours off.  Where did I find the energy?

Update: No medical update.  SIL and 18 month old nephew are in town.  Totally fun!  My stepdad also is driving up from Tucson today.  May call and book a prenatal massage for next week if I get the OK from my ob.  I hope she says yes!

  • Not really any updates. Just excited that my last two monitor readings showed no contractions. Hope my cervix stays calm and happy.

QOTD: I have PCOS and knew it would take us awhile to get pregnant. We started trying in August 07 and finally got pregnant on our second IUI. Therefore I know exactly where and when it happened. Funny part is that my husband could'nt be there for the IUI so he likes to tell people that he wasn't there when I got pregnant.

I'm excited that my family is coming over this evening to grill out this evening. I can't wait for good company.

  • The only update I have is the countdown to the end of bedrest.....21 days!! My OB said she'd lift my restrictions at 35wks and the cerclage will be taken out at 37....I can finally see the end of this long road trip!! QOTD: I know exactly when we concieved as we'd been trying for about 2 yrs.....December 29, 2008 was my husbands birthday and I treated him to special birthday sex.....I ovulated the next day and two weeks later 1/13 I took the test and got my 2 lines....I was at work when I tested (nanny) so I took a picture of it and typed under it "So I guess standing on my head worked!! I love you" He called immediately in total disbelief as we'd been trying for what seemed like forever!!
  •  QOTD: (Idea stolen from a question on 3rd tri) Were you trying to get pregnant? Do you know when/where you got pregnant?

  • Hi please add me to the list!

    Name: lynnew
    EDD: 8/28/09
    Type of BR: Modified
    Since when: 6/11/09
Reason: So many reasons, they are hard to list.  I was carrying twins and lost one at 20 weeks.  I have had a shortened cervix, contractions, a positive FfN test, abnormal Dopplers on blood flow, baby's heart rate dropped and is low,  now a drop off in growth or small growth.  I was in the hospital a bit but now and home and hoping she is going to be healthy healthy healthy!

We were trying to get pregnant for sure.

  • Update :  I am having a hard time today.  Feeling sad and sorry for myself and really wishing I could be out doing anything other than laying in bed.  I hope tomorrow is a better day.  I think DH is going to go rent Confessions of a Shopaholic for me to watch tomorrow.

QOTD: (Idea stolen from a question on 3rd tri) Were you trying to get pregnant? Do you know when/where you got pregnant

Yes, we were trying to get pregnant.  We had been trying since May of 2008, got pregnant in July and had a miscarriage in August.  D&C was done and we waited the one cycle to try again and ended up getting pregnant in November.  This baby was prayed for nightly :)

Update?:? I am having a hard time today.? Feeling sad and sorry for myself and really wishing I could be out doing anything other than laying in bed.? I hope tomorrow is a better day.? I think DH is going to go rent Confessions of a Shopaholic for me to watch tomorrow.

I hope that you are feeling better. ?I've had those days too! ?How was the video? ?I haven't seen that movie yet, but I think Isla Fisher is so funny. ?She was in wedding crashers and I loved her psycho-like character.

    :D?

  • Update: ?Well this weekend was an exciting and scary one. ?I started contracting on Thursday morning during my Monday regular NST appmt. Every 8 minutes. ?Saw doc and she said, no worries, if I continue to have them at 6+ per hour to go to the hospital. ? The rest of Thurs. was sporadic contractions, no worry. ?I started contracting on Friday morning, and again no real patters, no worry. ?Friday night at about 930 I started having them again pretty regularly and at first it was mild, then it got much more intense and it caused me to start really timing them. ?Was having them every 7-8 minutes and decided to have husband drive to hospital. ?Spent several hours at the hospital with terbutaline shots every 30 minutes to control contractions. ?Sent home finally when contraction subsided, but then I was shaking all over like a bad crack addict. ?I've spent most of Saturday and today recovering from all the shaking. ?I go back again tomorrow to see the doc and to get monitored. ?So far, just sporadic contractions since I have been home, but nothing major. ?I am hoping not to be on terbutaline shots or even worse - hospital bed rest!!!

QOTD: ?We weren't trying. ?We had just gotten married in October last year. ?Was on the pill. ?I know exactly when it happened...our early December trip to Vegas (sometimes what happens there, you take with you! :P) Come our trip to Philadelphia to see hubby's parents during New Years, hubby got sick with the flu and I thought I was catching it too. ?Went to the drug store to get flu meds, and thought to pick up an ept test...voila! ?
