Pork Chop Recipes

You ladies haven't failed me yet.  You're always full of good ideas.

I need some pork chop recipes for tonight.

TIA!

Re: Pork Chop Recipes

  • I always just smear them with olive oil, salt and pepper and then broil them.  DH seems to like his meat that way (I guess so he can really tast the meat, who knows).

  • stuffing and chop bake...

mix stuffing in baking dish and shift to the middle...season pork chops as you like and place them on outer edges of stuffing...it's ok if they overlap...make or buy brown gravy and pour over chops and along outer edges ...bake for 30 mins at 375-400, depending on your oven

    its a family fave!

    Merks's H is a meat purist ;)

I do a sage, thyme, salt and pepper rub and then deglaze pan with white wine. Dollop of butter --- yummo sauce. I like this better in cooler weather (it seems Fall-ish to me).

H will do them with montreal seasoning and worchestershire sauce to make them seem more meaty like a steak.

  • San Francisco Style Pork Chops

    3/4" Pork Chops
    1 teaspoon Peanut Oil
    1 clove Garlic, Minced
      The Sauce:
    2 teaspoons Safflower Oil
    4 tablespoons Sherry
    4 tablespoons Soy sauce
    2 tablespoons Brown sugar
    ? teaspoon Red pepper, crushed
    2 teaspoons Cornstarch
    2 tablespoons Water

Trim the pork chops of all fat. Heat the oil in a skillet and brown the chops on both sides. Remove the meat from the skillet. Add more oil if needed. Saute the garlic for 1 minute - careful, don't burn it. Combine the oil, sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper. Place the chops in the skillet. Pour the sauce over the pork chops. Cover the skillet tightly. Simmer over low heat until the chops are tender and cooked through (30-35 minutes). Add water (1-2 Tablespoons) if needed to keep the sauce from cooking down too much. Turn the chops once during the cooking. Remove the chops to the serving platter. Dissolve the cornstarch in water. Add to the sauce, stirring, and cook until the sauce thickens. Pour the sauce over the chops and serve on a bed of noodles or rice.  Yummy!!

ETA: This reciepe uses crazy oils but I just use vegetable oil.

  • My dad used to always cook them with teriyaki sauce, then put pineapple slices on top. He served it with rice pilaf and it was amazing.

I don't have a recipe for ya, but I think you could improvise.

  • I put a can of apple pie filling in the bottom of a greased 9x13 glass baking dish. Brown pork chops in a skillet, and then put them on top of the apple filling. Make a box of stuffing according to package directions, and then spoon it on top of the pork chops and filling. Cover with foil, and bake at 375 for about 40 minutes. Yum!

  • Thanks ladies.  As always I will combining and substituting these recipes to deal with Gabe's allergies.
