It's not for "induction". It just tones the uterus and prepares it for labor and delivery. If you're not ready, it's not going to put you into labor, sorry.
I like it - but recently once I get halfway through a cup of it it makes me gag. Dunno whats up with that. Maybe its the type of tea you need to have with cookies .
yea, the raspberry leaf tea won't put you into labor, but it is good to drink in third tri because it helps tone the uterus, and shorten postpartum bleeding.?
I've been drinking it through my entire pregnancy, as per my midwife's recommendation. Here's some BRIEF info:
What does Red Raspberry Leaf Do? Red Raspberry leaf does not start labor
or promote contractions. It is NOT an emmenagogue or oxytocic herb. What it does
is help strengthen the pelvic and uterine muscles so that once labor does start
the muscles will be more efficient.
I have been drinking it for a couple of weeks now (raspberry leaf tea). No signs of labor and don't know about post partum, but I figured it can't hurt.

darn ladies. i should clearly have Googled before starting this convo. I stink.
blame it on the 39 weeks 6 days... i have a swiss cheese brain.
thank you for your good natured advice.
FWIW, this girl said to me: "finally drank rl tea, went into labor the next day!" clearly, it wasn't the tea that did it.
