PSA: Pedicures

If you have not yet treated yourself to a pedicue while pregnant, put down the keyboard, stop what you are doing, tell DH that dinner is going to be late tonight and go NOW!!!

Seriously, it's so relaxing to just sit back for thrity or forty minutes and let someone pamper you who isn't going to ask for anything in return (except a tip). I don't know about anyone else's experience, but I go to a little Asian nail place, they charge about twenty five dollars, plus tip, and I get the whole foot bath, leg massage, skin scrub, etc. The polish job usually lasts four weeks for me (unless I'm swimming a lot).

Plus, for a lot of us, these are the last few weeks where we will be able to do anything like this with out arranging child care, etc. You deserve this!

I agree, the foot/leg rubbing is worth every penny. Getting your toes polished is like a bonus

Agreed! I had a pregnancy massage yesterday and it was absolute heaven. My friend also treated me to a pedicure for my birthday... being pampered never felt so good.

I totally agree! I got one a few weeks ago and it made my day. ?My problem is that once I have my toes done I run into everything and trip on everything and then ruin my nail polish way too fast. ?But its alright!

Thanks for the reminder! DH told me he would treat me to one (well, it's that or HE has to paint my toenails!) and I've been meaning to make the appointment but haven't had time. I'm calling right now!!

Totally agree. I went a couple of weeks ago and I'll be returning in a couple of more weeks. It's heaven!

I totally agree - especially when they have massage chairs. I cant wait for my next one. I usually just go once a year with my mom for mothers day, but this year I am going once a month when my polish starts to chip.

I am going tomorrow and can't wait! My only problem is that I am super ticklish so get a little antsy when they scrub the bottom of my feet. The rest of the time it is heaven, though!

I agree!!! I had one Saturday and want another already. I went in with a headache and came out no headache, totally relaxed, and feeling GREAT. I go about ever 2-3 weeks and wish it was more!

Wow...I have had one pedicure my whole life and that was for my wedding back in 2006...I wish i had money to get one like some of you all every week. That must be so lovely. I need one...cry!! Sad

Never had a pedi. Not even for my wedding. But someone gave me a gift card for my baby shower. I want to save it until about a week or two before my due date. I've heard that if you get the deep tissue massage it can help stimulate later. Can't wait!

I go every 3 weeks and yesterday I splurged and paid extra for an additional 20 minute massage... I only do that if they are that good and she was amazing! My poor cankles were in heaven!

I've had two so far this pregnancy and I'm going back this weekend since my shower is the following week. It is so worth it. I used to do a lot of things for myself: fake nails, tanning, expensive shoes and purses and now other than maternity clothes or nursing clothes I don't get myself anything. The pedicures have been sooo relaxing and nice. Every pregnant lady deserves at least one.

I used to love getting pedicures, but I got one about a month ago and the nail tech cut me. I was so grossed out to put my feet in the tub after that because of all the germs in there..I didn't want to get anything. Now I'm freaked out and pedicures are ruined for me Sad
