We made a carrot puree last night, but she hated it and after tasting it, I could see why. Bleh. I'm going to try steaming a couple and putting them in her mesh feeder in a bit.
Any other ways to make them?

I just steam the heck out of them. DS hated them at first to. I think it was the texture. I added cereal to it and he ate it. The next time I tried to give it to him he loved it.
Is she doing finger foods, like cheerios yet? You could do a veggie soup- I cut up carrots and celery, throw in some frozen peas and cook everything with broth until they are very soft. I then either spoon feed it to him, or just put the veggies on his tray. He's 10 months old now, so I also added alphabet noodles and small bites of chicken.

steam them well (over steam almost) so that they're really soft. Put them in the blender. Add water. The more water you add, the softer they'll be. Because she's just over 6 mos, I wouldn't give her carrot sticks yet (wait until 8-9 months... if not 10).
Yep, just steam them until they are super super soft. Then I use an immersion blender to puree them, using a good amount of the water that was used to steam them. My DD LOVES carrots this way.?

Do you season them at all when you roast them? (Can we use seasoning at this age?) Someone suggested mixing in cinnamon.

Based on the age of DD, here's what I'd do:
steam them well (over steam almost) so that they're really soft. Put them in the blender. Add water. The more water you add, the softer they'll be. Because she's just over 6 mos, I wouldn't give her carrot sticks yet (wait until 8-9 months... if not 10).
DD rejected carrots, too. I might try adding a spice. I've also "hidden" them in sweet potatoes, but DD makes a yuck face w/every bite.
I steamed and blended, but it was a bit chunky.
