Do you have/wear a lucky charm?

I was given a ring for our 1 yr wedding anniversary. It has blue stones curved with diamond "looking" chips. I also was in the hospital that day for my D&C. I have worn it everyday since. It's a reminder of so many things for me. What is your lucky charm?

I keep a St. Gerard medallion in my wallet.

Me thinks St. Gerard needs to clean the damn wax out of his ears.

  • I got a James Avery angel necklace when we had our loss...it's not necessarily a lucky charm (obviously since i'm still not ku) but I can't leave the house without it on.  Hopefully it'll be lucky with this next ivf...
  • Not that it's lucky by any means for me (3 IUI's/ 2 IVF's all BFN's) but I do wear a St. Gerard medal on a necklace every day.  It was given to me by my friend.  She had an IUI and has twin boys now.  She wore it through her whole journey of IF.

  • I also wear a St Gerard metal everyday.  I got a pretty nasty rash from it on my chest so I have to wear it backwards so it hangs down my back.  Most people would take that as a sign, but I'm allergic to almost all metals that touch my skin, so I'm not going to look at is anything more than that.  Wink

I'm also still wearing my IFAW bracelet.  I didn't think it would last this long, but it has!

  • I carry this little lucky lady bug that my Dad gave me around IVF#3 in my wallet.  Didn't bring luck yet, but I'm hoping it will soon.  I also wear a silver turtle necklace that I got on our honeymoon in Hawaii.  I wear it mostly because when we were in Hawaii, we were snorkeling in the ocean at the beach right at our hotel and this sea turtle just came out of nowhere and started swimming with us.  It was so awesome.  So I wear the necklace because it reminds me of that, of our honeymoon, and of the last time that I was truly carefree and happy.

  • My mother gave me these sterling silver earrings with the Inca god of fertility. Honestly, it was a regift. She bought it for my sister-in-law and before she gifted them she showed them to a few people. That's when she was told what that funny little man with the horn was - the fertility god. Previously, she'd thought they just looked interesting.

Well, my brother and his wife a very unique type of hippies. Very much into self, sexual, and worldy exploration and enlightenment (Buddhists, too) and kids are NOT a part of their life plan.

Enter me... with some regifted fertility god earrings.  hahahaha  At least I know I'll be the one bearing the first grandchild  =)

  • A silver chamsa (it's a Jewish symbol of a hand) with a garnet in the middle (my birthstone) that I wear every day pinned to my bra.  Chamsot are supposed to ward off the evil eye and bring luck.  Sticky baby luck, I hope.  That, and my wedding rings.
  • I have a lucky T-shirt...its gross and has stains/holes in it but IDC.  I consider it lucky anyway!

Smilee, I so wish I could meet you because OMG do you crack me up sometimes. lol

I don't know that I'd call either of these lucky, but I wear a plain white gold band under my wedding ring that has the dates I was pregnant from our first IVF engraved in it.  I also found a necklace on our San Diego trip at the very beginning of this cycle that's a flat ring and has the word "Hope" on it three times going around it.
