npr: Question about e-mailing resume

I contacted someone (thru e-mail) about a job Ad.  She said to e-mail her my resume.  Do I send a cover letter with it or just the resume?

God, I am so rusty since being a sahm for 5 years!

Re: npr: Question about e-mailing resume

  • I would, it can't hurt.  Just don't make it too long.  Have a small paragraph as to why you are interested in the job and 1 that highlights something special about you that would be great for the job.

    Good luck!

  • If you do a cover letter, don't send 2 separate documents. Just C&P the cover letter before your resume on the document so that when they print it out, it's included. Otherwise, they will probably just skip over it. HTH and GL!
  • I do a cover letter type thing in the email and attach a resume.  It has always worked for me.

  • I always send the "cover letter" in the body of the email and then attach the resume.
