Austin Babies

waitaminute, you FOLD t-shirts?

Libbyann, you said you fold t-shirts?  Where do you put your shirts?  and where are you from?

I ask b/c apparently people in Australia don't hang anything, they don't have closets and fold crap to put in dressers, so I always wonder where people are from when they say they fold things I always hang.

:)

So now I need to know:  do you fold your t-shirts and put them in a dresser/armoire or do you hang them?

We hang here.  the only things in the drawers are underwear, socks, shorts and pajamas.

    I definitely do!!  :)

  • Ratty t-shirts/workout shirts/sleep shirts get folded and put in a dresser. Nicer stuff gets hung...We don't have enough closet space to hang everything!

    Oh, and I'm from Kansas.

  • Yep, I fold tshirts. I'm actually a folder and a hanger.  I fold DH's shirts Gap-style and put them in his dresser.  Mine I hang, simply because I don't put them in the dryer so they have to be hung to dry anyway.

I also iron sheets.  But I realize I'm probably alone in that, lol.

  • when i had a bigger closet... i hung them now we have a tiny "master" bathroom (1950s house!) so we fold all tshirts to go in a dresser as well as my tank tops. nicer shirts get hung.

hanging is easier than folding... so if i have the space in the closet... that's where they go!

Don't the necks get all stretched out from hanging?

    nah.  not really.

I would shoot myself if I had to fold that much!

  • My T-shirts are folded, DH's are hung. Except his "ratty" tshirts, then they go with my folded tshirts.

However, if I had the space, I'd hang EVERYTHING, including the ratty tshirts beacuse it's just so much easier to find everything. However, I don't have the closet space.

  • We hang t-shirts. We have more closet space than drawer space.

You're not alone:  I iron sheets too.

I also fold T-shirts.  All of DH's Ts and all of my ratty Ts get folded and put in their respective dresser drawers; all other shirts (including my nicer Ts) get hung up as soon as they come out of the dryer.

Ditto.  Some shirts store better folded... mostly knits like t-shirts, sweaters, etc.  Wovens are all hung.

  • I hate shirts having lines. Everything that can go on a hanger, goes on one. But we have big closets and not that many clothes.

  • Ditto Batsteph, except for the ironing of sheets. That is crazy talk. I would hang more stuff, but I have too much to fit into my closet.

When I met DH he actually would pull the hanger through the bottom of the shirts or sweaters to prevent stretched necklines.

When we lived in Korea we didn't have closets so everything got folded.  Sweaters, pants.  So I think after that whole expereince and hating looking like complete @ss I hang pretty much everything now.  Hee hee.
