There are quite a few things at the Gap that dd needs to have. I am waiting for my coupons very patiently, but may have to bite the bullet soon. I want to make sure her size is in stock.
ditto E..no different than "Skinny jeans" that I think were popular last year, for kids as well....doesn't mean you want your kid to "look" skinny and will make them anorexic by putting them in those jeans, no more than putting your DD in a "boyfriend jeans" will mean your DD is getting married next year and start plannign a wedding.
So what exactly is specific to this style of jean?
Really, in toddler sizes it's all about having a waist that fits the toddler belly and a butt that will fit over diapers, right? Most come with an adjustable waistband anyway.
I just think it's odd that toddler clothes are so trendy.

It's the fact that they are supposed to fit looser and are rolled up at the bottom.
I'm sure the legs are a bit wider through the thighs - just like flare or bootcut jeans are wider at the ankle or skinny jeans taper to the ankle.
I looked at the picture and I can't think of any other way to describe them (in one word - like flare, bootcut, etc.) other than boyfriend jeans - that's the style of a "boyfriend" jean.

What is "wrong" about it? I can go buy myself a pair of boyfriend jeans and I don't have a boyfriend. It is basically the look like you are wearing a guys jeans and you have to belt them and roll them up to fit you. It is just a cute name.
I can't to PIP; google 'Katie Holmes boyfriend jeans' and see what images come up. I think she started the trent. That's why they're called boyfriend, because their oversized. They could just be called super duper slouchy jeans that make women look totally stumpy.
I don't care one way or the other but I think they missed a golden marketing opportunity. If they are supposed to look like they are borrowed from a boy, they should have called them "Big Brother Jeans" when they come in kid sizes. How cute would it look if the ad showed a 5 year old boy teaching his three year old sister to fish. The two of them sitting on a white dock with their jeans rolled up so they can dangle their feet in the water. Creating an ad campaign around a toddler and her boyfriend is kind of skeevy.
Re: Is it wrong that Gap Toddler has jeans called "Boyfriend jeans"?
that's a specific style of jeans that's really trendy right now - which is why it's called that.
Kind of like a motorcycle jacket - which my husband insists is not truly a motorcycle jacket.
It's just what it's called, so I don't think it's weird/odd.

Ditto pp that it isn't a big deal.
Christmas 2011
It's not like the Frederick's of hollywood" Slut Pants "line for toddlers, is it?
they're just super low cut so their Hello Kitty drawls hang out...
I hesitated at first, but they were so cute.
