Whew, I thought we were the only ones with a weird nickname for our DC. It's still pretty weird even compared to most of these though:
Sitchie Poo Mata Whenya
Little Sitchie
or
Mata Whenya Baby
And here's the long story-
My sister used to say I looked like the baboon in the Lion King who holds Simba up in the beginning. Her and her boyfriend would sing the Circle of Life lyrics as a joke about me. We all had different interpretations of the lyrics and came up with the above (now DD's nickname). DH heard them singing it more than once and when DD was a newborn all curled up like a little animal he held her up and sang it as a joke. (very strange for DH, he's not as quirky as sis, Bf, and I) Well it's embarassing and it stuck. We went to a wedding and a co-worker's wife asked DH, "Do you call her a nickname, something shorter than Teagan?" and DH said seriously," Um...Mata Whenya." She said," Okay I'll stick with Teagan."
And the lyrics are really "Nants ingonyama Sithi uhhmm" so we don't have a very good grasp of what we hear. LOL. Sorry for the long story.
