Is it true that you test glucose one hour after first bite?

Is it true that you test glucose one (or two) hour(s) after first bite (not end of meal)?

Just wondering if this is the case - I brought home my meter today but we didn't go over that at the doctor's office.

Sometime we eat for 45 minutes or so (start with a salad and then leisurely move onto a main course, sometimes with seconds) so I wonder if my numbers will be off if I am testing only 15 min (or 1 h and 15 m) after finishing the meal.

I do 1hr after taking my insulin - which you probably aren't on - but if I were you and slowly eating, I'd test about 1hr plus 1/2 of the mealtime.

45 min to eat = test at 1hr 20 min or so?

I am supposed to test 2 hours after I begin the meal. But if you are "grazing" it might be different.

I do test one hour after the first bite. I'm supposed to finish a meal in 15 minutes, but sometimes it takes me longer.

Yeah, it's test 2 hrs after begin eating for me.

I test 1 hour after I finish eating, I can not imagine eating all my food in 15 min. that would be craziness. In one hour after last bite I need to be under 140.

I was told around the time you consume most of your food. I told my doc that I never sit still when eatting.. so determining first bite would be hard.
