I made spaghetti sauce in a pot. Then I added the sauce to my meat in a skillet, and placed the empty pot back onto the burner to sit there until I cleaned up after dinner. (the burner was only on low and then I turned it off)
Then I added a giant pot of water for my pasta to a different burner. I turned it on high.
After about 10 minutes, I wondered why I hadn't heard my water boiling yet. I went to check and it still wasn't boiling but it was a big pot so I didn't think much of it.
As I sat in the living room, I started to smell a burning smell. Went to check the stove, everything was fine. Water still not boiling.
Another 10 minutes passes....and suddenly I clue in.
Yup.
My poor pot I used to make my pasta sauce has been cooking on high with nothing but a wooden spoon in it. And my pasta pot is ice cold.
I don't even think the pot is salvagable-its' really black. And the spoon was ruined too ![]()
Re: Worst case of preggo brain ever
I somewhat did the the other night with spaghetti sauce... except I left the BURNER on ALL night on low.
In the am I saw the stove light was on and I was like.. wha? Then I saw my burner on!
Thank god I have great pots that can take the hours of heat on low. Now I am paranoid.
