As soon as we get back from vacation. Poor T LOVES our little shihTzu's, but they're 13 and not interested in playing not one bit. Poor T (and poor dogs) chases them around everywhere. When she does pet the she squeals with delight and is normally very gentle. She needs a dog to grow up with, so we are going to rescue one when we get home. Yay! See poor Daisy below getting hugged/tackled by T. (not sure if pic will work, on my phone )
Re: So it's time to get another dog (PIP)
ADORABLE!
I need a new dog too, one that is less high-strung so that when A tackles it it doesnt freak out. LOL my dog is getting better but it's hard for him.
Such a cute picture!!
I know exactly what you mean. I love my dogs, but I would not get another "toy" breed. They are just not kid friendly.
Ainsley is obsessed with my dad's Britanny, Nicky. She followed her around all weekend saying, "Nick! Nick! Nick!"
I just don't think I can add any more craziness to the mix right now. And DH wants a Mastiff.
I actually love these dogs too, but I am imagining the cost of food, vet bills, and boarding when we go out of town.
A medium sized dog just seems more practical. And this brings you to the end of my novel.
awww I am so glad you are going to go rescue one instead of getting one from a breeder!!
have you seen this food blog? almost all her blog posts have one pic that has her lil shih tzu charlie in the background, I think it is so cute!!

Aw! We LOVE our boxer and they are great with kids or at least ours is. Bella stays with Harper if she's crying and waits for me to come to the room, she lays right by her if I have her on the bed or we're on the couch, etc. I was worried how Bella would do since she was our "baby" for 2 years, but she's Harper's little protector. I can't wait to see Bella and Harper play together...I'll live vicariously through you with Taylor and the boxer you get!
p.s. Bella is a smaller boxer (40lbs) and is the perfect size...not too big, but not too little. You'll be glad you got a medium sized one!
That is sooo cute!
We are looking to adopt another dog as well. We have one now and he is great with kids so I am thinking another Cocker Spanial, but DH has other plans and wants a big dog. At first I wanted a small dog, but Keanan is too rough to have a small dog.
We stopped at an adoption place over the weekend (basically they pull dogs from the shelter and have outdoor adoptions once a month) by the time we got there there was only one dog left and he was not a good fit.
We have an english bulldog and she's not smelly! Okay, she has occasional gas, but she's no more smelly than our mastiff. lol! But she is high maintenance, as most bulldogs are. And she's quite found of "her" baby! And as far as mastiffs go, ours is lazy as all get out! He's still a puppy (a 125lb puppy!) and is a little crazy when we first get home, but otherwise he lays around. We walk him almost every day, but when we don't he's still just as lazy as when we do!
