So we?re having PAC?s bday at a children?s museum. Great place, but 45 minutes away from my town. We?re inviting a good amount of people, but don?t know how many will end up coming. The museum requires 1 month?s notice to cancel, less than that and you don?t get a refund, and they need to know the party?s size in order to reserve rooms.
For this reason, do you think it makes sense to put the rsvp date a month before the party? Normally I?d do 2-3 weeks. Is it unreasonable to do 4-4.5 weeks out (maybe even with a disclaimer that says we need to give a count or something to the museum)?
WDYT?
Re: Does this sound reasonable?
I think that would be ok.?
Would you really cancel if there weren't that many coming though? Or would you still have his party there? ?
what's the minimum that they require? are they ok if you have to add people at the last moment, like a few days before?
When we had Ethan's bday party at a kids place, they were ok with me just paying for the exact number of people on the day of the party..... and we had probably 5 more people than I initially told them.
Otherwise I think it's ok to ask people to reserve a month in advance, but be prepared that there could still be cancelations... kids get sick, things come up...etc.
pple will drive :-) there is rarely a party closer than 30 minutes away from us. 45 minutes is not bad.
