WHAT IS FUNNEL CAKE???

op - you never had funnel cake?  where do you live? if didnt feel like i wanted to vomit i would go on about its fried-goodness.  you must have some!

i could almost understand the people where I live now that have never had sponge candy - but funnel cake? isn't that as american as apple pie?

    Never had funnel cake either. ?I've had elephant ears twice in my life, been told it's the same thing, I hate elephant ears. ?

    I also hate donuts, that might have something to do with it.

    someone posted a pic.  We actually call them malasadas around here or at least it looks very similiar.  It is fried dough with powdered sugar on them.  But they are malasadas.  I'm in MA

    Get out...only twice in your life?!  I loooove elephant ears, but am done after a few bites.  They make me feel sick, but I do love them.  Weird huh?

    i believe elephant ears are the same thing - i have never eaten them, but i think i saw some once.  malasadas - interesting name.

    it sure is yummy - but right nwo i am never having anymore again. :)

    Funnel Cake? Elephant Ear? Sponge candy?  Haven't had any of these. I live in Ma. I have had fried dough and Cotton candy. Is this the same?

    Kori, NOOOO!  I love donuts.  I would be 10 lbs thinner if it wasn't for them.

    I know what a funnel cake is, but I don't think that I have ever had one.  I always get cotton candy at the shore (that's the only place I have seen funnel cake)

    Apparently in MA we are missing out on some very yummy treats lol.  I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't know what it was.  Malasadas is a Portuguese.  They sell them all around here.

    Funnel cake is awesome. It's at every fair/carnival here in PA. HAS TO BE topped with powdered sugar.
