No, I am not asking how much you've gained, so simmer down.
The question: did your care provider address how much weight you should gain at the beginning of your pregnancy? Has he/she mentioned it at all subsequently?
To answer my question: she actually brought it up for the first time at my 15 week appt. and said she wants me to gain 25 lbs (I am normal weight pre-pregnancy). It suprised me just a tick because I expected the 25-35 range.
My doctor's assistant just got on me about gaining "more than she would like" since last month. ?i tried to tell her that I had drank 2 huge bottles of water for my u/s and she said, "No, it was probably all the summer eating and barbeques." ?B!tch, you don't know how I eat!?
I was given a packet of information in a folder that talked about guidelines, but it was never talked about directly. Even though I have gained 17 lbs, my doctor says I am on track and never mentions it without me starting the joke:-)
Yes - apparently weight is something my doctor has an obsession about. It's been discussed at every appointment. (And FWIW - I'm within her recommended range every time I go - so it's not being brought up because I'm not gaining appropriately.)

She said I should expect about a 30 pound weight gain. That was about it.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

My midwife brought this up at our first meeting and said she'd like me to gain 25 - 35lbs.
My OB (I'm doing co-care for the time being) didn't mention how much weight she thought I should gain, but did say that I was right on track at my last appointment.

He drew me a chart of what the average woman should/will gain. Seeing as Im not average apparently and am overweight he told me I could loose weight my entire pregnancy and he would be 100% okay with it as long as I was eating enough and the baby is healthy!
Not really. My midwife is pretty laid back about it, and has never given me any solid numbers to go by. She just gives me a thumbs up when she reads my weight at each appointment. So far so good!
I brought it up cause I was paranoid...she then looked things over & said I was in the healthy range...then my last appointment I saw the other OB (there are 2 that I see alternating in their practice) and she said "your weight is right on track" So...as long as they are happy I guess I"m happy.
although I don't think it's possible to be "happy" about gaining this much weight, I know that it's healthy & is only around temporarily

my OB said she doesn't pay much attention to weight unless it's off the charts & something might be wrong. She said "you gain what you gain"
My OB has never mentioned it and never said anything about my weigh-ins either, although I am gaining a little too fast for my own comfort. Trying to be ok with it. I guess if she is, I should be!

Yes, and she mentions it every appointment, because I am so overweight to begin with.
Granted I was down 13 pounds at my last appointment, so I'm doing ok, but she wants me to gain as little as possible. Right now, I fluctuate around the same 3 pounds up and down.

"For a long time there were only your footprints & laughter in our dreams & even from such small things, we knew we could not wait to love you forever."
No, they never have mentioned it. They do always question why I have lost weight in the first tri and I always have to explain that it's normal for me and I'll start gaining it back in the 2nd tri.
my OB did not say how much I should gain at the begining. The only thing she has commented on is the fact that I lost weight right away and since then she tells me my weight looks good.
My Dr. said between 25 and 30 pounds. I have gained 13 so I think I am right on target. They did say that they would like to see between 2 and 4 pounds weight gain a month. My dr kind of crazy over weight. She comments on mine at every appointment. Its hard because with it being hot out I am holding the water weight like no other! So at one appointment I was up 7 pounds and she was like yea thats way to much weight gain! I was like this is not what my scale said at home this morning, so my weight with the heat can be up anywhere between 4 and 10 pounds which seems crazy to me, anyone else noticing this?
my OB said he'd like to see me gain only 20 lbs. And no they haven't said anything since my first visit. They do say if i've got good weight gain or not, which I have.
I was told I need to gain more at my 16w appointment. I was still having some m/s then, so my doc will be proud of me at my next appointment!
At my 15 week, I was about where I started (because of M/S). I am sure I will catch up!!
I was down 10 lbs at my 14.5 week appointment, and my OB didn't even menion it...though she mentioned at my first appt that I was down 4. She didn't seemed worried though.
My appetite is finally back, so I'm sure the weight gain will be begin.
At my first appointment the Dr. said I could still gain like 25-35 even though I started out plenty overweight. I've actually lost about 25 and the nurse was the only one who asked me about it. She asked to make sure I was still eating. (I laughed and said yes). The Dr's have been fine with it because the baby is healthy and growing right on track!

I think they gave us the general "pregnant women should gain 25-30 pounds over the pregnancy" but other than that first visit and tiny mention of it, nope. They tell me Im doing fine...and other than that its not brought up.

when I was pregnant with my first child the midwife stayed on my back about gaining weight. Now that I am having my second child and nolonger seeing the midwife things are different. I am slightly overweight and gained a total of 6 lbs. My doctors has no problems
Any way, to the OP, I believe my MW told me at the first appt that I should only gain about 15 lbs overall because i was overweight to begin with. Up until my last appt I'd only gained 6 lbs net (I lost some in between also). I'm pretty sure I have some significant gaining to go though lol! She actually yelled at me for losing at my 2nd appt, accusing me of "dieting." Lol. I just said, no, I eat when I'm hungry. She chalked it up to me "eating better." I didn't have the heart to tell her I had McDonald's for breakfast... =P
I was at my doctor's today. I am up 11 lbs and asked if that was normal. He didn't seem concerned. He just said everyone is different but they want you to stay within 25-30 lbs.

No! NO NO NO NO. Your DOCTOR will tell you how much you do or do not need to gain!!!! Do NOT compare yourself to people online. This is why weight posts in general are not popular on here. Your pre-existing conditions will dictate how much you need to gain, NOT what other people have gained.

This pretty much what my OB said when I told him I was concerned about my weight gain. (I'm up 17 lbs from 120 pre-pg)BFP #3 -mm/c @ 7wks, discovered at 9wks, D&C 9/28

Nope, she hasn't mentioned it.
I did research and figured out how much is ok for me to gain.
At my 10 week appointment he said that I would not gain any 1st tri then about a pund a week for the last 2 trimesters.
I'm weighed every four weeks and he mentions how much it's changed since last time.
