Murph or anyone else/Tilting mattress?

This is a dumb question, I know.  My brain is a little slower these days since I'm back at work.  How did you tilt your mattress?  What did you put underneath it to tilt?  Just wondering......

DH isn't too up on the idea, but I think it might really help with the reflux.

  • We just stuck a pillow under one end when we did it.

  • We put a large dictionary under one end and that worked well; it's a subtle tilt (or not, depending on how many books you use!), but it made a difference for us.?
  • you can do a pillow or they do make special mattress wedges. A friend of ours also had a baby with reflux and used one of the wedges, so we just borrowed theirs.  but I think it did really help with the reflux, at least until he could start moving around in the crib.  Once he could move around we had to take it out b/c we'd often find him with his feet up and head down.

  • To clarify, we used two books side-by-side so it was more stable - but you could use four - two over and two up.

This is what we did, our crib has wheels so a book underneath wouldn't be too safe!

  • To clarify, the books were under the mattress, not the crib :)
