laminaria prior to D&C

Has anyone else had laminaria- or seaweed stick put in your cervix 1 day prior to your D&C to dilate you??  i JUST had the done- it was a bit scary... and now i am home alone and a bit scared??? if you have had this done let me know what to expect as the hours pass....

    i had it before my d&e and the insertion was the worst part for me. i didn't have any pain but i did take the pain medication they gave me before bed. good luck.

    the insertion was pretty bad for me too... i will def take the medicine before bed too just in case....  did you bleed at all from it before your procedure??

    no, i didn't have any issues with it. no bleeding or cramping. wear a maxi in case though.

    i had laminary 2 consecutive days before my d&e.  i didn't bleed, but I did get crampy.  i just stayed in bed all day.
