Let's talk double strollers!!!!

Mommies of 2 or more.....if you have a double stroller which one do you have and would you recommend it?

I have begun our search for one.....Sydney will only be about 2 1/2 when baby #2 arrives so I want something that she can ride in for outings....

 Thanks!!!

  • We have the double Mac and the Baby Jogger City Mini.  We liked the Double Mac at first, but it didn't hold up in the end.  We LOVE the City Mini.  It maneuvers like a dream and is really compact for a SBS.

If you do not like sbs, you should look into the Phil and Teds with the doubles kit.

We went to Buy Buy baby, strapped both kids in (you could still do this with just dd) and pushed around the store.  It made the decision much easier.

  • I have the Bumbleride Indie Twin and love it. It's really easy to push and both boys are very comfortable. The seats fully recline and there is a HUGE amount of storage, which is rare in a double stroller.
  • I have a graco duoglider, which I really like.  It's the SUV of double strollers, huge, but with all the features you could want.

I had a combi twin sport too, but I sold it, because I found it so hard to push without kicking the middle wheel.

  • We have a Phil and Ted's Vibe which we love. It also works as a great jog stroller because you can lock the front wheel.
  • I hate big strollers, so we're going with the BabyTrend Sit-n-Stand Plus.  It's the most compact and versatile we've found, and it's on the cheaper side for a double.
  • We have the Phil/Teds Dash, but haven't gotten the doubles kit yet since we only have 1 baby right now.  But the stroller is great.  It is a little tricky to fold at first, but it gets easier after a little bit and things loosen up.  It has a smooth ride and we like the flexibility of having a single or a double all in one stroller so we don't have to clutter up our garage with strollers.
  • We have the Phil and Ted's Sport.  To be honest, I haven't used it much yet.  I've been using my Graco travel system for my infant and an umbrella stroller for my toddler since I have my MIL here to help push one.

I would like to start using the P&T though.  I'll definitely have to when I'm by myself (DH works out-of-state and is only home Fri,Sat,Sun), but I have had issues folding and unfolding it.  Maybe I'm not doing it right, but it seems very difficult.  Also, I like the Graco because it has a cupholder and a storage compartment on the handle.  I might have to get an attachment once I start using the P&T full-time.

  • We don't have one yet, but I am not a SAHM so if we go out with both kids (other than back and forth to daycare) there is always 2 adults there.  If I ever felt we did need one I would go with the sit-n-stand type so that one could sit in the stroller and there would be an option for the toddler to sit on the back if she was tired.  She pretty much hate staying still in the stroller as is, so a true double probably isn't a good option for us anyway (besides the bulk issue).
