Things have taken another turn for the worst for us.
Our LO started STTN at 5 weeks, for about 10-12hours each night.
NOW.... we are lucky to get 10minutes at a time during the night.
She will stay up for 12 hours (and still be HAPPY) with two 5minute naps in there. She does not nap long when she does (40minutes at most). She is only getting about 6-7 hours of sleep per day now total.
She does not wake up to eat, she is teething (but not in pain at these times), and just will not sleep.
Any thoughts? Ideas? Help? Please... we do not want her to CIO or start her on cereal. tia!
Re: 4 month sleep regression - HELP w/o CIO
We don't believe in CIO either. Try reading the Dr. Sears attachment parenting book. That really helped me feel confident about not crying it out.
We moved almost 2 weeks ago now and DS' crib went into his room instead of ours. For days we couldn't get him to stay asleep in there. We didn't want to cosleep and see him regress but for our own sanity, he ended up in our bed most of the night for over a week. I read the book and we decided he needed us, he wasn't comfortable in the new place and being there with him was the best parenting we could do. Well, it worked! After 3 nights of trying to put him down once or twice then letting him stay with us rather than trying over and over to put him back down and ending up with a really upset baby, he has spent the last 3 nights in his crib, just waking to eat and then not being upset. I really believe you have to read your baby's cues and not worry about some psychiatrist's perspective on what is best for all babies.
Would your LO sleep with you?
