seriously...are they seriously that nasty in real life?

    i have not, did not join the nest until Carson was about 8 months old but i have heard terrible things about BOTB.  sorry they are being so nasty, that is just ridiculous.Sad

    I remember being over on BOTB before I got pregnant with DS.  It was NOT like how it is now.  I will not even venture over there now!

    I agree, we are ttc #2 and I will ask those type of questions here or on parenting first!!

    I used to come on here all of the time when pregnant with DS and it was so much fun and everyone was so helpful and supportive. Now, I post a few things and get attacked. I don't take it personally, but it just makes me want to stay away from those boards.

    I used to lurk over on BOTB back before I got PG with DS too.  I was always too intimidated to post.  Embarrassed

    Since coming back here last fall, I tend to stick close to "home," here on the toddler board.  I don't like all the nastiness and bullying that can go on on some boards.

    I'm sorry you got attacked.  I hate that.  Sad

    When I was pregnant with Nora, it was a pretty nice board.  Now with #2, I stay away entirely.  The 1st trimester board is better, but there are occasional outbursts of meanness.

    I was a regular on BOTB ages ago. It's always had snark, but at least it was on topic.  Nowadays it doesn't even seem to talk about babies all that much. Any honest, innocent question is met with fire and daggers.  Only the stupid questions got those back in the day.

    I was even on freaking BABY TALK before BOTB even existed.  That's before The Nest even existed.  It was just on The Knot. 

    One thing I will say for BOTB/GP/Tri Boards...   at least there seems to be some awareness/acceptance of things that depart from the current cultural norm.  ie)  med-free birth, CDs.  (Yes, even CDs were controversial at one time.  EC wasn't even heard of.  People thought I was *nuts* 2 years ago.  Now?  At least people have heard of it and aren't so quick to be downright mean and bash.) 

     

    ETA...  When I was TTC and pregnant with DD I was on BOTB under a different name.  Had too many friends floating around there and I wasn't ready to 'come out' with it all.  Marriedchick and I were pregnant and active on that board at the same time.  Wonder if she'd remember me under that other name?  hmmmmmmm.. lol.

    Those boards are nasty. be careful... not only will they bash and trash, some have actually gotten irl issues too.?
