I can't poop ... dying here (obviously TMI)

OMG, I hate my life right now. I'm so freaking constipated. I took  laxative/stool softener pills, but it said they don't work for 6-12 hours?!? I also took a suppository (nice, huh?), but it didn't do jack. I'm soooo uncomfortable, and every time I try to poop it hurts so much that it takes my breath away and I want to cry. I have to pick up DS in 30 minutes, and I just know we're going to spend the entire evening in the bathroom. I've been drinking water like crazy and I just half a giant box of raisans for the fiber ... nada.

    hmm - I don't think you should have done a suppository if you have to go pick up your DS!  Can anyone else pick him up?

    milk of mag worked wonders for me after DD was born. ?Just a warning though, with everything you've done to help yourself, I've got a feeling when it rains, it's gonna pour!

    Exercise always helps me go. A brisk walk or some really vigorous aerobics tend to get things moving.

    that's what I meant.  Not really sure you're going to be able to control it when it comes.  I'd stay near a toilet if I were you!

    LOL -- I actually did that about 4 hours ago -- nothign but the damn suppos. came out.

    yeah, I was given a dose of percocet on Sunday night, which is why I think this happening. It's so awful!

    Try taking magnesium supplements nightly. They really help things down there.

    Have you had some prune juice?

    No, I haven't tried that yet. I'm afraid to try anything else because of the whole "when it rains, it pours" outcome!

    it was me!  I'm rating all posts 5 star.....but I didn't mean it in a 5 star, glad you can't poop way!!!!!!!!!!  Sorry if that is what it seemed like!!!

    Good luck with pooping! 

    Miralax is my friend....use it if you don't poop soon!

    I hope you have had some luck! You could always try an enima! I have been there before, and I think I would rather have it "pour" than be so incredibly uncomfortable! Do you have any rubber gloves? You could try the extraction method!
