Pregnant after a Loss

What were your baby shower favors?

My little sister (22) is throwing a baby shower for me, but as she has never actually been to one, she doesn't really know what to do. So I'm helping her plan it.  I said I'd do the favors, and I'm leaning toward homemade cookies or candy tied up in a pretty bag because it's easy.  Any ideas for types of cookies or candies?  And what were/will be your favors?

  • I like this idea!  A friend of mine used heart shaped cookie cutters and then turned them upside down and cut off the point of the heart.  Then she made them look little behinds and did the icing in colorful diapers with the baby initials or It's a boy!  or just fun designs.

  • We had chocolate covered pretzel rods for my aunt's baby shower, some were milk chocolate and some were white chocolate, and they were all drizzled with pastel colors...pink, blue, green, yellow, purple.  They were really pretty!

  • my mother and i were just discussing this.  she is planning on getting pretty cupcakes and wrapping them in clear cellophane or baggies and tie it with a pretty bow.  everybody always loves edible favors!!  for another friends shower we are doing candy bars with custom wrappers saying "is it a boy or a girl" and then have her shower info on the back.  and for a shower i just went to they had cookies hanging from twigs in a vase as you walked in and each person got to take one and put it in a little blue bag.  they were sugar cookies with white frosting and blue trim with a mix of sayings on top.  some said boy, some said so and so's shower, and others said the date.  they were cute and yummy.
  • My mom and I were just discussing this.  We agreed that edible favors are best because otherwise people just end up tossing out whatever is given.  At my friend's shower, they had a children's book theme.  They ordered sugar cookies that were glazed and iced to look like different children's books, and it was so cute (and yummy)!  We plan on doing something similar.

  • We are making homemade bunny shaped chocolates (my mom had a ton of molds and one just happened to have adorable little bunnies), wrapping them up and then making favor boxes out of pretty paper.
