Moms of girls with shoulder length hair

How do you fix her hair?

Bella is almost to the point where her bangs (they were just kinda created when we cut her hair to get rid of the mullett about 8 months ago) are grown out.

I rarely leave it down--only when I can blow-dry it.

We do either a bow to pull back what is left of the bangs, or sometimes pigtails, but it just all falls out since it's not quite long enough yet. I've been doing it with like 3 rows of hair pulled together to make pigtails so it all stays up (if that makes sense).

I'm not a girly girl, and am not good at this hair-fixing thing. I don't like her to go around looking like a ragamuffin, though. Does anyone want to PIP how they fix their girls hair?

  • We do LOTS of pigtails - half pigtails and whole (though I often have to put a barrette in the back). I loop the pigtails, braid them (sometimes with a ponytail holder at the top and sometimes not), braid & loop, French braids or twist them into little knots. Our pigtails aren't always centered, either - I like to have a big section on one side and just a little sliver on the other.

If nothing else, I at least have to put a barrette in the front to keep it out of her face.

I also do a lot of half-French braids. Here's a PIP of that. It's nice because it keeps the hair out of her face. (Though there are still little whispies that are too short for anything.)

I can't french braid. I tried and tried, and just can't do it. I even watched youtube tutorials!
