~~Bed Rest Mama's Monday Check In~~
We had a few babies last week - yeah and congrats to all our bed rest mama's graduates!!! I have cleaned up the list by removing some names where the EDD had past and we had not heard from the mama for a while - but if I mistakenly took you off, please let me know!
Please
let me know if anyone needs to be added or removed, or if anything
about your status has changed. Also, I am newly on bed rest so I will
do a QOTD but since I had not previously participated - there may be a
repeat of questions you guys have done before...

6 weeks - Threatened Miscarriage; 11 weeks - placenta previa; 21 weeks
and 24 weeks to present - PIH with borderline pre-E levels; 28 week -
PIH and Type 1 diabetes.

Type of BR: modified bedrest for now, but expecting to go complete at some time pending contractions and cervix lenghts.

Reason: Preterm
mild contractions, cramping, and pressure. Cervix measuring 28 mm on
initial U/S, staying steady so far at about 30 cm with weekly transvag
U/S and started on prometrium to help relax the ute. STRONG family
history of PTL.

privileges at 32 weeks
Since when: Saturday 4/25/09 (24w3d)
Reason:
My cervix was measuring short (1.9 cm) at my repeat "big" u/s (even
though it was fine the month before and the only reason we had a repeat
was due to the baby's positioning blocking some views), down from 3.5
cm at 19 weeks.

home - allowed up to go to the bathroom, grab something to eat and to
shower every other day. Can go downstairs once a day to couch and back
up once a day to bed.

Reason: cervix shortened from 3.2 to 2.4 within 4 weeks, carrying triplets

started with a SCH. At 14 weeks I had massive bleeding and needed two
blood transfusions. I also have partial placenta abruption.

downstairs to the recliner. All meals are delivered by my DH as I do
not want to spend anymore time than I have to putting pressure on my
cervix!

during my BIG ultrasound they found my cervix 1.5 cm dilated and I went
in for an emergency cerclage. Hoping to hold on to this pregnancy as
long as possible as I was given a 50, 50 chance....would love to beat
those odds!!

mins apart! Put on Mag to stop contractions - stayed in hospital 3
nights...home now on modified bedrest for 2 weeks.

- can use bathroom and shower with max of 10 minutes on my feet. No
housework, driving, work, no sitting. Taking terbutaline every 8
hours, and 1600 mg of magnesium twice a day.
Since: May 7, 2009 (23 weeks)
Reason: IC,
major beaking with only 1cm of closed cervix at 23 weeks. IC has has
progressed to completely effaced at 30 weeks, with 1cm dilated. We
are back to 1.2 cm of cervix, but 1cm dilated at 32 weeks. With every
week not in labor, we have increasing hope that we'll have a full term
baby 
It's been a long way from 23 weeks to 32 weeks today!

Reason: Pre-eclampsia. Will be on bedrest until induction the week of the 13th or the 20th-depending on labs tomorrow.

QOTD: What is your most embarrassing moment??
I was wearing a sweater type skirt (thought it was cute at the time) one day when I was in college. I got done with class, went to the restroom, then made my way all the way across campus to my dorm. As I was walking into the dorm, I saw one of the girls from my hall and she called my name so I waited there for her... She ran up to me and told me that my skirt was stuffed up in the back and under my backpack... I apparently walked across campus with half my a$$ showing... especially nice cause it was a granny panty kinda day....
QOTD: What is your most embarrassing moment??
During the first week I met my DH I made such a fool of myself. At the time I lived in an apartment on the 2nd story and we were leaving one day and I had my little maltese dog with me. I was carrying her down the stairs and as I got to the bottom I felt myself start to trip. I knew I was falling so I tucked her into my arm and sort of did this roll onto my other side into the parking lot. I fell bad! To the point that people who were parking their cars and whatnot were pointing and laughing at me. I was so embarrassed but luckily my dog and I were ok. DH didn't know what to do. He ran over to me and took the dog and I could tell he was embarrassed for me. I think he thought I was probably more hurt than I was because the fall was not pretty. Afterwards we laughed about it, but oh so embarrassing at the time.
When we were 16 or 17, my best friend and I went to see Phantom of the Opera when it came to Phoenix. It was a big deal for us to go because my mom or her mom had to drive us up from Tucson (2 hour drive on the freeway, which we were not allowed to do). We were total musical dorks back then and would sing and record ourselves singing, stuff like that.
Anyway, we watch the show and are standing up clapping at the end with everyone else. Our seats were in the lower of the 2 balconies. All the sudden, I see a flash. I look over and the dork, my best friend, is taking pictures! Of a copyrighted musical! And when you walk in, it specifically states no photography and all this stuff. I turn away and continue my clapping. Suddenly, a huge spotlight shines on us. We are blinded. And these people storm out in front of us with flashlights, and are like, "give us your film!" to her. They leave, and the clapping eventually ends.
I think it was the final show of their little run in Phoenix. The cast are all hanging out in the lobby singing Christmas Carols to raise money for something. So as we're trying to escape and wait for our ride, they see us and glare. I was mortified, and it hadn't even been me! And my friend had the gall to complain about her film being taken away all the way home. I mean, she was in the wrong. How lame can you be? I think if you asked her today, she'd still complain about it. And she is still my BFF.
Update: I have an NST/AFI today and an appt with the perinate. Real update will come later.
Update: I'm still contracting like crazy and I can no longer walk. My left leg won't move very well, my OB thinks I have a pinched nerve.
QOTD: I have really good stories, but I don't want to type them out right now.
Update: At NST today my bp was 128/60 (lowest it's ever been), and my 24hour urine protein came back at 277 (it was 386 on the 1st). So I guess I've cured my pre-e....lol. Anyway, baby is doing well, but her heartrate was a little high today (175 ish, it's usually 146 or so). We'll see next appointment if it's better.
QOTD: When I was in 1st grade I peed my pants in front of a group of 6th graders and cried. Then I had to call my mom to bring me clothes and stuff. Still haunts me when I drive by my old elementary school.
