DS is a nap fighter in the worst way. He takes maybe one good nap a day, whether I hold him or not. Usually by 6-7 p.m. he's so overtired that it's like the freaking apocalypse over here, & it's a struggle to get him to sleep before 11:30. Once he's down, he usually only wakes up twice, but 5 hours to get him asleep is frustrating.
I've been reading the No Cry Nap Solution, & there are some great tips for different kinds of nap issues & stuff specifically geared towards newborns. It's really helped. He's taken at least 2 short naps by himself the last 2 days. Last night was pretty rough as usual, but we only had fussy time for about half an hour tonight & he's been sleeping for an hour.
Hopefully I haven't jinxed myself by posting this. **Crosses fingers**
Re: Operation in bed before 11:30 a success!
Awww, so cute!
I've been there. DS wouldn't nap for awhile either and I remember being happy we got him down before 11 too!
It has gotten much better, though he seems to be changing again. But since about 7 weeks, 8pm has been our magic time.
I hope this trend continues for you!
