Non-toy toy

Caroline has recently discovered our stash of cards that play music when you open them. (My mom is obsessed with giving them.) She loves them. I admit hearing the same clip of the same song over and over and over and over can get annoying, but she loves them and they keep her entertained for a while. I think we will take them on our car trip with us next month.

Re: Non-toy toy

  • That's a great idea.  We have a book that plays "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" when it's opened and of course it's one of her favorites now.  If it makes her happy, then I'm all for it.  :)

  • I was babysitting my 4 year old cousin today and she entertained herself with just a plastic cup and our box of remotes (one for the tv, dvd player, cable box, vcr, PS3, a few all-in-ones, and some random ones I have no idea what they go to.) for at least an hour. And then, somehow those remotes made their way into every "let's pretend" game she came up with throught the day.

Ahhhh, the mind of a child!

  • Make sure the cards are reinforced somehow so that there is no way she can get that battery out.  I hate to be the killjoy but ever since reading a blog about a baby who swallowed a battery, I feel compelled to warn.

  • Jack loves music cards too.  My mom always gives them  :)  He's a big fan of books that have noise buttons as well.  Very annoying, but very occupying  :)

Good call. I never even thought about that.
