lots of gunshots last night! holy crap!

welcome back to the city!

I had just come in from walking lulu. dh was on the couch programing his new blackberry and I sat down next to him to read. all of a sudden we heard "POP! POP! POP..." 8 - 10 times! we looked at each other "what was THAT?!" I knew exactly what it was.

sure enough, in no time there were 3 helicopters over my building, 4,000 cops and many ambulances outside. it was total chaos! I'm still not sure what exactly happened. all I know is that in the projects next door there was a dead dog and 4 injured cops. this all came from some sort of "domestic dispute" with guns! the media is still swarming in my hood and we have detectives coming in and out of my building. yikes.

the craziest thing is, ginny slept through the whole thing! even with the helicopter spotlights coming in our windows! the whole scene was straight out of a movie! I still can't get over it.

Yikes, that's the kind of excitement you don't want to have next door. . . but Ginny sounds like a NYC baby for certain! My older nephew was born when his parents lived on the Upper West Side and could sleep through a rock concert. He was also very proficient at hailing a cab before he was two years old! )
