Is it true that a higher heart-beat is indicative of a specific gender? As in - if it's over 160, you're probably having a boy...?
I thought I remembered hearing this at one point. If so, do you know what the important numbers are to look for?
Thanks. ![]()
Re: Heart-Beat?
I've heard it but I want to say you have to take the hb in 2nd tri for the OWT to hold true.
Our hb yesterday was 190 lol.
It is an old wives tale and nothing more. Alek's heart beat was high and that's supposed to mean girl.
He's all boy-
It's not something to go by.
The heart rate in the first 4 months is always very high. After that though the owt is Over 150, girl, under 150, boy.
This website has some info:

I asked my doctor this question & she said it is absolutely MYTH.
The heart beat can be any rate...
Anytime you exersise your heart rate goes up.
How do u know your baby is sleeping or exersising??? you don't know, therefore you cant predict their gender based on heart rate.
