Someone posted in birth stories about being scared of having a vaginal birth- which is totally understandable.
but then this woman replied that she is having a c-section because she doesn't want sex to be like "a hotdog thrown down a hallway"
Um.
I wonder what her doctor thinks about that?
Re: Did I just read that right?
My OB told me yesterday that in South American c/s are 80% of all births due to women ELECTING them! WTF??
That's insane to me!
LOL did someone really post that??
Mrs Prek- your baby boy is soooo darn cute! He looks IDENTICAL to one of my favorite babies at daycare. I affectionately refer to him as "Squishy"

I don't know where she's talking about in South America, but I live in Chile and the rate is 70%, which I've been told is second in the world, only to Afghanistan. The reason most people have c-sections here is that there are two health care systems. The public health care system is worthless and the private is out to make money.
C-sections are more expensive and let the docs "budget" their time. Most women who can afford a private clinic, but not one of the best, end up with a c-section bc the doctors and clinics make more money that way. The other option is poor medical attention and the possibility of having the baby in the waiting room at a public hospital.
So, anyone who can't afford the equivalent of two months salary, up front out of pocket, after insurance coverage is faced with a choice: probable c-section at a middle-class clinic or questionable attention at a public hospital...
i read that too!
i don't think that's what it's like after a vaginal delivery. i asked an ex (who had 2 kids from a previous ex).
and hi, recovery from a c section has got to be way worse. it's called kegels. do them.
It's the same in Venezuela (My original country). Thay even perfiom pelvic test to see if you can delivery naturally, and "surprisingly" most of the women have "strecht pelvis" so they "need" a c-section.
Also some OBs don't like to be called during nigth because it is not safe to go out at late hours (Security issues)
Jenny McCarthy said that in Belly Laughs so sometimes people use that phrase here. It all goes back, trust me!
