My aunt's attempt to deliver secretly LOL

They snuck off to the hospital at 1 a.m. with no plans to call anyone until after the baby arrived. In their rush, somehow they didn't set the house alarm properly. After the alarm company couldn't reach my aunt and uncle they called my aunt's mom whose contact info was in their file. When she heard that they weren't home at 1 a.m, she instantly realized that they were at L&D having the baby. So... she showed up anyway. And called everyone to let them know my aunt was in labor.

That sucks, I think that I would kind of be mad at my mom if she called everyone even though we hadnt told her we were in L&D. You think that not calling anyone would be a BIG hint not to show up! lol

Yes, my aunt was mad! BUT I wonder if it occurred to her mom that they were doing it on purpose. Maybe they were just in a rush, aunt in pain, etc and they hadn't had a chance to call? Anyway, my aunt told me this story so that I'd be sure to set our alarm right! LOL

Lol something similar happened to us. DH and I decided to only call family when we went into labor, and then let everyone else know after the baby was born. Well our neighbor also happens to be very good friends with us and everyone else we know. He saw that DH's truck was gone early in the morning and tried to call us, but we didn't answer. He called my best friend, and then she called the hospital. We told the hospital earlier it was ok to let people know we're here not thinking people would actually call...mistake! So a phone call came through to our room. I answer and she says....Hiiiiii are you in labor? I couldn't exactly say no at this point haha. Then the cells phones started to blow up, so we turned them off! Sneaky...

I agree- if they snuck off I would try and respect that they hadn't notified anyone themselves. It's a funny story that they will have to tell though!
