why is it my fault when someone dials the wrong number?

it wasn't a telemarketer either.  i politely told the lady that no, this wasn't the C residence and she got all huffy ... towards me.

    Oh, I hate that!  Or when you tell them they must have the wrong number, and they say, "Well, who is this?"  Like it really matters!  I don't know the person you're asking for so why do you care who I am?  Annoying.

    I think people get super embarrassed when they dial the wrong number and maybe it just comes off as huffy??

      Ditto this.  Not that I think their attitude is right.  I always apologize, "I'm so sorry, I dialed the wrong number!".
