NBR rant about eye doctor
I am SO annoyed. I went to a new eye doctor this year (one that takes my new insurance) for my yearly exam so I can order new contacts. Saw him in the office, everything was fine. I realized after I left that he didn't write me an RX, so I called and asked him to fax it over. He wrote on the RX a brand of contacts that I don't wear (a mistake, I guess). I placed a contact lens order with 1800contacts, which I do ever year. It's much easier for me to order them online without having to make any phone calls or pick the lenses up at the doctor's office when they arrive. So 1800contacts tells me they can't fill my order because the brand of contacts written on the RX is not the brand that I wear. They tried to call the doctor for days to verify my order, but he never got back to them. I called the doctor this morning, and he wasn't available. He called me back and gave me attitude about not ordering from him! Said, "I don't know why you called them and not me, I don't know why you would do that, I'm your doctor you should order from me" etc. I think this is so rude. I can buy from whoever I want to and should not have to kiss his a$$ so he will verify my RX to 1800contacts! So pissed off right now. I am thinking of calling my insurance company and telling them not to work with him any more (not that they will listen...)

Tell him: "I would gladly order from you if you want to match their prices".
That will shut his _jackass mouth up.
I can see both sides of this. Of course he wants your business, but of course you want the cheapest pair of contacts.
I'm surprised he didn't offer to price match.
I know. I get that he wants the business, and if he had been nice on the phone instead of accusatory and rude, I would have bought them from him instead of 1800contacts if he matched their price. But he didn't mention price and was so obnoxious that I refuse to give him my business now.
