If you are hanging your quilt...

what are you using?

I tried the big wood quilt clips from Jo-Ann's and they are useless.?

Re: If you are hanging your quilt...

  • I got white star clips from BRU.  Theyhave been holding it fine for about 3 weeks now.

  • My mom sewed something to the back of the quilt that you could stick a rod through and then I was able to rest the rod on some tacks in the wall or something.  (Sorry if this isn't so helpful since I can't really remember - this was not a baby quilt and I had it in my apt. a few years ago).
  • I sewed tabs on the back from scrap fabric by hand and used a curtain rod not for a new quilt but dh's baby quilt but still.it worked nice and was simple to hang.

My mom sewed the same thing. It is like little loops of fabric. Janice, you're pretty crafty from what you've shown in your PIP's, I'm sure you could do it. Then just get a skinny dowel from Home Depot and put it through the loops.

yeah, I was thinking of doing the dowel and sewing loops on the back, but I was hoping for clips because I want to be able to pull the quilt down easily if I want to use it. ?I saw the Star clips from BRU, but I am anal and they don't match. ?I'll probably do the dowel, since it seems the most secure.?

Again a curtain rod is just like a dowel and so much easier to hang. just an fyi.

NOOOOO!!!! ?I can;t put nail holes in my handmade baby quilt, no way, never:) (Though I do agree, it is the easiest solution)
