Does your DC get "over excited"?

in Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months
I ask because if I make a sudden move, or if the dogs bark, or I open a door, or daddy comes home, etc...she screams and shakes in excitement. I know it's not that she is scared...she just gets over excited. I didn't know if this is normal or not. To me, I don't think it is. Just wanted to see if others have a similar issue.

    I don't know if this is similar, but DS is learning to walk right now, and every time he takes a few steps on his own, he gets so excited, laughing so loud, shaking his arms, etc, that he falls back over again.  He does something pretty similar when his dad comes home, and will fall from sitting or cruising b/c he is so thrilled.

    DD does the exact same thing.  If she gets ahold of something she knows she is not allowed to have or if I am feeding her something she loves she gets really excited and shakes.  She also does this thing where she scruches up her nose and breathes really heavy like a dog.  I think it is adorable.  I hope this is normal.  I never really thought anything of it.

    DD does that exact same thing at all the things you mentioned.  I really don't worry about it because she is just excited about new things. I just think of it as she is a happy, excitable kid!!

    Yep, DS does it too.  Especially when we start heading for the backdoor because he LOVES to play in the backyard.  He'll grin so big and start to shake.  He also does it when me or daddy walks into the room after being gone for awhile.

    All.the.time.  It used to worry DH that she would shake, but I told him its just a lot of excitement for a little body!

    Madi has been doing this for some time. She makes this Gorilla grunt sound and flails her limbs and if she is perticularily excited she starts hollering Ohhh ohhh ohhh while wiggling on her bum :) I love my teeny!
