Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Baby shoes

I bought DS a pair of sandals from TRU and the length fits him, but his feet are so fat that they leave marks on his feet....so I wont be putting them on him anymore....I couldnt get his feet to fit into anything else.

I'm guessing he should have a pair for outside...but why the heck are baby shoes so expensive! Its crazy. Especially since he's going to have to get special shoes for babies w/fat feet. UGH

Re: Baby shoes

  • DH & I were just talking about this yesterday!  We were at a consignment shop and the sandals were $25.  I know he should have a pair of sandals or something even though he doesn't walk but I am so surprised at how much they cost.

  • I buy all of DD shoes at BRU.  Tennis Shoes and Sandals.  They are the soft sole type because she doesnt walk and I never pay more than $10 for them.
  • we have 2 pairs of shoes for DD. both are stride rite. they are amazing.

i wouldn't waste your money on trying to find anything else. we went to the SR outlet and paid $30 per pair. yes, pricey for shoes she'll grow out of in 2 months, but they are perfect and comfortable.

  • DS has feet so fat even Stride Rite couldn't find a pair that fit him correctly (they are fat in height if that makes any sense). He is walking so we need some shoes. The only ones we could find him that fit right now are the Crocs sadals that we got at a Journeys store at the mall. We also got him a pair of New Balances that fit. Expensive, but we really didn't have a choice.
  • If DD was walking I would definitely be at Stride Rite.  I would suggest if you have to buy - and you know they are going to be pricey - go to Nordstrom if you have one in your area.  They are very good at finding sizes for the unusally small or large feet.  If they dont have it they will find it and get it to you.  Their customer service is unbelieveable.  I definitely am a shopper for life.
  • My parents just bought DD her first pair at Stride Rite this weekend. Crazy expensive! $52...but I do believe that good shoes are important. Up until now I was sticking DD in the knockoff Robeez from Target but now I guess it's "real" shoe time.

Yep especially if she is walking....very important.

EDIT:  By the way - super cute tutu

  • LibraMom, fat in height is my problem! He's fat in height and he's also wide! So I know exactly what your talking about (unfortunatley)
  • Check out the See Kai Run "Smaller" brand for fat baby feet... you can always order from somewhere like Piperlime or Endless, and return for free if they don't work. But Lyla has Pedipeds, Rileyroos, Stride Rites, and Robeez, and so far the See Kai Runs are my favorite for fit... very roomy and very soft leather!

ETA -- I just got several pairs of SKR shoes from Piperlime for $16.99 each... girl styles, but might be worth checking for your DS to see if there are any sales!

  • Ooh - On my way to look at Piperlime for baby shoes!
