Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Why does my pedi office never sound confident with their answers?!

I swear, every time I call with a question, they hem and haw and don't sound very knowledgeable.  I just called to ask when to start yogurt (she doesn't go for her 9 month visit until she's almost 10 months so I wanted to find out before the visit) and she said "I guess around 11 months, that sounds like a good age."  That's not very re-assuring!!

  • I hate that - I've experienced that with every doctor's office!

FWIW, I got the ok for yogurt at 6 months.

  • You are fine to give her yogurt now. We have been doing yogurt since 8 months.

And that is really annoying. I would be irritated as well.

  • My doctor is good, but the nurse line kinda sucks.  I called when DD had mild diarhea last month and wanted advice about what I should do/look for, etc. and seriously, it was like she was googling it or something.  UMMMM - its not a mysterious disease. .. diarhea in a 6 month old - what's the standard protocol????

I'm not sure if it was even a nurse I talked to!  I think she's a recep that's worked there for years so they act like a nurse.  WTF?!  I think I'm going to try some yogurt anyways!

  • We got the go ahead to start right at 6 months - you'll be fine.
