after I had DS I stopped going to my old haircut person because it was just to far of a drive. Since then I have gone to a few different salons. I found a salon that I really like, have gone to 3,4 girls there and just haven't felt like any of them were great enough for me to go back to. They are each ok but if I'm going to give someone repeat business I want to really like their skills kwim?
I hope I am not sounding like a snob becuase I would never consider myself that type of person. It's just I have sorta curly hair. Not so curly that I can't straighten it but curly enough to be a pain. It seems to really throw hairdressers for a loop, I don't know why!
Anyways I got my haircut two weeks ago, I thought it was ok. DH didn't like it right off the bat. We went on vaca the next day and were gone for a week. I hated the whole time, it just doesn't lay right. This week since we were back home I tried to straighten it a few days in a row, it looks silly...like the layers are to short or something. I'm really not happy with it.
Should I call the salon and ask for a re-cut? If yes do I go through a different girl? Get a discount off my next haircut? I paid $100 for cut and color it makes me sick to be so dissapointed with it!
Re: what to do about bad haircut (me)....
I would call and ask her to fix it. $100 is too much to pay if you hate it...or I would just go somewhere else.
I don't understand how you can really like a salon but not like the girls that cut your hair. Who cares how nice the place is if they don't do good work? The true test of a good haircut is whether or not it still looks good as it starts to grow. It's a bad sign that two weeks later it doesn't lay right.
I would recommend that you ask people who have cute hair where they get their hair cut....even if it means stopping strangers in stores and restaurants.
I'm sort of in the same position. I spent $170 yesterday and got a cut and base color I like, but the highlights are WAY too bright. Sort of strip-ey looking (skunk effect) and I don't think look professional.
Going to give it a day and call back tomorrow if I'm still not liking it.
I do think two weeks is a bit long to calland ask to fix it though.
Baby #3 due September 12, 2014!
